ASG X Tinker Beats Mix

ASG X Tinker by Jay Scarlett on Mixcloud

Tinker [False Profit, San Francisco] is a Bay Area based DJ/Producer representing some of the freshest beats coming out of the fertile west coast music scene.  Using tools of live sampling and performance within Ableton and her trusty APC, her playful sets have been described as beat-driven, melodic, glitch-y, and experimental. Appropriately nicknamed "galaxy beat girl" and the "mind-and-genres-bender," love of arpeggiation, 8 bit textures, and space age beats, are the hallmarks of Tinker's sound.  She has a captivating presence, earned through years of dance and fire-performance, inspiring audiences to swoon at her lush sonics or dance like mad at her driving beats and bass.  Tinker is the resident laptop mistress of the long-standing and well-respected San Francisco arts collective False Profit. She is a fast-blossoming producer in her own right and is currently working on her debut EP

ASG X Klic

ASG X KLIC by Jay Scarlett on Mixcloud

2011 was a fantastic year for Ned Pegler. His original productions under both his Klic and Medlar monikers gained support from a diverse selection of tastemakers including 2562, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Jackmaster, Addison Groove, 6th Borough Project, Space Dimension Controller and Jimpster - as well as airplay through Radio 1, 6Music and Rinse FM - and the Hit and Hope imprint which he co-runs forged an identity as a purveyor of quality underground electronic music, regardless of genres and trends.

Metabeats feat. Dubbledge - EyeSeeYou (Official Video)

Associated Minds is something that’s happened because it should. Against all possible odds, the label was started back in 2004 as a way to pour out enthusiasm for good hip-hop, which we think is the best genre of music. Powered by a confidence to break through the barriers that the gatekeepers uphold with what we know and think will push peoples’ buttons, we spew out all kinds of styles.

Inspired by the whole spectrum of hip-hop and music our mission is to try and raise the strength of those styles to be as good as the best in the world. Sharpened by the range of the very different personalities in the camp, we’re aiming to cut the edge in different ways on different days. We’ve spent years bugging out over rap tapes, CDs, internet links and live shows to make life more exciting and have always tried to represent the best talent whether as fans or artists ourselves. We’re repping that underground knowledge and satisfaction you can’t just find anywhere. Making stuff that’s cool.

From bedroom beginnings to critical acclaim, supporting Nas, rocking the Sony B-Boy Championships and being heard on radio worldwide, we achieve things our way. AM is our contribution to the realisation you can’t live without being able to look at yourself in the mirror for something that you do, so we keep passionately pushing ourselves to make quality over quantity. We follow no one and we stay sharp, come and see what we do next.
