Ty & Kory

Ty & Kory are re-formatting R&B to make it work for them. “You know, niggas don’t like to bang R&B going down the street with our females in the car and shit. So we wanted that shit to be hard like, ‘We’re from the hood, we be on some hood shit,’” Ty says. The solution was something Raw & Bangin that you could bump in your car and still hold your head up high to while crooning to wifey in the passenger seat. The beginning of the duo’s story revolves around a pair of chance encounters at a single Guitar Center (yes, the one right on Sunset), where a mutual friend introduced them. A few months later, once they had teamed up to form a group, their drummer introduced them to Taz Arnold of SA-RA Creative Partners at the very same location.

Ty & Kory created two mixtapes and some MP3s for use as promos—they were shopped as demos and the tracks were sent out to different DJs until one day, out of the blue, they got a call from Will.i.am. and Venus Brown of Buddah Brown entertainment. Now signed to Buddah Brown Entertainment, Ty & Kory’s first release Junior Radio is ready to hit the streets in March. They’ve been working with everyone from heavyweights like Timbaland and Will.i.am to under-the-radar producers like Waajeed, Karriem Riggins and Exile. SA-RA will have their turn behind the boards as well—Ty & Kory credit them with their G-Unit ties, as well as their style. As Ty puts it, “I didn’t start dressing crazy until I met Taz. He put me on to doing crazy shit and people just be on you and want to know what it is.” Kory adds, “That all comes from SA-RA, the master teachers.”

To pop music fans, keyboardist Jan Hammer is best known for his work on the soundtrack of the stylish '80s cop series Miami Vice.

But Hammer also achieved considerable success in the jazz fusion world, both on his own and as a charter member of John McLaughlin's legendary Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Though jazz purists often decry major portions of his solo work, Hammer has undeniably left his mark, both musically and commercially.

A native of Prague, in what was then Czechoslovakia, Hammer was born into a musical family (on April 17, 1948) and began studying piano at age four.

By age 14, he was working with a touring and recording jazz ensemble that also included future Weather Report member Miroslav Vitous.

Hammer studied theory and composition at the Prague Academy of Muse Arts, but when the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968, he emigrated to the U.

Gothenburg in Sweden is the right place for dragon tales on foggy nights. One of those made a huge impact on the music scene end of 2007 and also blew away our ears: Little Dragon, with a debut album out on Peacefrog. Electronic singer-songwriter pieces the kind of style we love - with a lot of edges, deep bass lines and twisted harmonies, topped by the unique voice of Yukimi Nagano from the former koop-camp. To make it short, u'll dance and cry listening to this album. Now the lil dragons tour europe and will come to our lovely hometown munich as well, i guess live will be just another league ... and as we want u listeners all around the globe to feel as we feel we'll record the live session and present it in one of our future shows.
